At the Ballyphehane Community Association we provide counselling services, dealing with a wide range of issues including, but not limited to depression, relationship problems, health promotion, chemical dependency, loss and bereavement (including working with those who have been affected by suicide), stress and self-esteem issues.
Carmel Forde is a Person Centred Therapist and is accredited with The Irish Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Carmel has experience in working with the development of young people in issues such as mental health, depression, and suicide.
As a therapist Carmel helps the client to develop a trusting relationship which leads to a heightening of awareness, this helps to build self-esteem, confidence ,assertiveness and ultimately concludes with the client reaching their full potential.
Carmel works with a very wide range of clients including children, teenagers, adults, and couples. She has worked with a wide range of issues including mental health, relationships, bereavement, grief and loss, and Asperger’s Syndrome. One of Carmel’s strengths is her openness to dealing with most issues.
Sharon O’Brien is a Qualified psychotherapist providing one to one and online therapy to adults over the age of 18 in Cork City. She believes in the principles of compassion and curiosity, without judgement, when sitting with clients.
Sharon primarily works with those who experience difficulty in the following areas: Grief, bereavement, anxiety, addiction, depression, low mood, relationship and family issues etc.
Being an integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist means that Sharon works with many different theoretical models and will choose what works best for the client.
